Biography
Dr. Michela Longo obtained the Ph.D. cum laude in Mechatronic, Information, Innovative Technologies and Mathematics in 2013. Her academic career has been developed in the Electric Transportation Systems research group at Politecnico di Milano where she is now Assistant Professor since 2015. She received the national scientific qualification pursuant to article 12 of Law 240/2010 for the call sector 09/E2 Electrical energy engineering for the position of level II professor with a great evaluation in 2017. She is the Scientific Delegate for the International Exchange Programs for the outgoing and the incoming students in electrical engineering for the Politecnico di Milano. She leads international scientific collaborations with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT and CanmetENERGY Research Centre Natural Resources Canada of Ottawa, She collaborates with the Bangladesh University and the University of Malaga. She is author of more than 160 works published in international and national journals, book chapters and conference proceedings. She is co-author of the book “Automation of electric transportation systems” (in italian). She is Associate Editor of the Elsevier ” Sustainable Energy, Grids and Networks” Journal. She is Member of the Technical Committee CT 317 “Smart City” and CT 312 “Electrical and electronic components and systems for electric and / or hybrid vehicles for electric road traction” of CEI (Comitato Elettrotecnico Italiano). She is Member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society, a Member of the Italian Federation of Electrotechnics, Electronics, Automation, Informatics and Telecommunications (AEIT), Member of the Italian Railway Engineers Association (CIFI) and a registered professional Engineer in the Province of Milano, Italy.
